Dorset Rape Crisis Support Centre offers a comprehensive range of training courses for anyone working with or supporting survivors of sexual violence. Our training has been developed from our knowledge and experience of providing a range of specialist support services for over 30 years.
It is here to support your work and ensure you are meeting the needs of those you are working with or supporting. We offer bespoke courses where we work with designing training to meet your specific needs or the needs of your organisation. All of our trainers are experienced front-line practitioners.
We have developed Trauma Informed Training for professionals to explore how trauma affects the brain; brain development; impact of trauma and how to support those affected. It links to the research around Adverse Childhood Experiences.
We offer bespoke training to other organisations from ‘How to manage a disclosure safely’ to “An introduction to how trauma affects the brain” which have been delivered to Bournemouth University, colleges and care homes across Dorset. Training can be a morning or afternoon or a whole day depending on your needs and the teams you need to be trained. We have a training venue we can use alternatively we are able to deliver training in your own premises if suitable. Employer Awareness Training
If you are a local employer wanting to provide awareness around the issues of Sexual Violence and its impact we can also provide training for staff, team leaders, HR managers. We work in partnership with SafeSpace Consultancy who delivers training around the issues and impact of Domestic Violence. Training is delivered around the myths; costs to business; impact; spotting the signs; managing disclosures and providing support. Advice and consultancy on developing DV/SV policies for the workplace can also be provided.
